The Christmas season is my favorites time of year. This is when I’d be teaching Christmas around the world, teaching about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah, making marshmallow snowman, and preparing for the best ever Christmas activities. This year we will be virtual for the holiday so why not have a virtual Christmas party! Here are a few fun ways to throw a virtural Christmas party for your students.
Get students in the Christmas mood
Decorate your virtual classroom with Christmas colors and decorations. Don’t have time for decorations, just change your background by dropping in a Christmas backdrop on your google meet. Dress in your most festive Christmas outfit and blast some holiday music. Get your students in on the fun by having them dress up in holiday colors or even decorate their backdrop for the party.
Play Christmas themed games
Spend your virtual time playing Christmas themed games. Have a Christmas scavenger hunts, play Pictionary. Have a dance party and just have fun!
Virtual Christmas Scrapbook
Use google slides to create a virtual scrapbook. Students can use this scrapbook to share family traditions, memories, or share their favorite things about Christmas. Create simple slides that students can add family pictures and text to. This can be a collaborative activity or you can send each student one page and combine them into one scrapbook to show during the party. You could even send all the completed slides over the Christmas break for the students to enjoy.
Christmas Bitmoji Classroom
This year we will be virtual for the holiday so I have made my kiddos a very simple gift, a Bitmoji Christmas classroom with fun links. I uploaded this in the materials section of my google classroom and scheduled it to show up the last week of school.
The best part about this Christmas Bitmoji classroom is you can use it to create student engagement. This is how I use Bitmoji classrooms to create student engagement. You can make this Bitmoji classroom your own. Just remove my Bitmoji and add your own. You can add or remove links or use one of my templates to create something totally different. But be sure to MAKE A COPY first!!
