We have all been there, on a random Friday, struggling to get your lesson plans for the next week done. You are exhausted and completely drained but you still need to get your lesson plans submitted by 6:00. This was me long before I was a TPT seller I was an avid user. Where did I turn, To Teachers Pay Teachers, of course!! TPT was there to save the day and my weekend. You’ll find a great lesson that your students will love and that you don’t have to spend all weekend creating.Teachers Pay Teachers has saved me so much time, and brought some amazing “Ahha” moments to my students faces! I don’t speak for all teachers but, I know am grateful for this platform.
But let me tell you a few things you don’t know about Teachers Pay Teachers.
Class Fund
ClassFund is like crowd-funding for teachers. Teachers can raise money to purchase resources from Teachers Pay Teachers. Class Fund doesn’t charge any fees on the contributions that are donated for your class. All the money goes directly to purchasing your resource and there’s no expiration date. You can create an account and share the link with others.This would be a great way to get help paying for the resources you need.
School Access
Do you want free TPT resources, this is a subscription that allows your school to use TPT for free. Your school pays the subscription and your principal manages the account. This is a really cool way for you to get the resources you need without spending your own cash. Now the only thing left to do is talk your principal into it.
Gifts Cards
Teachers, you’re going to want this one on your list! TPT Gift cards are great as gifts and perfect for all of your teacher friends. When someone asks what they can get me for Christmas or during our family gift card exchange each year – just tell them I want a TpT gift card. They can purchase an actual card by mail or a digital version that never expires so even if I misplace mine (which has happened before) there is no need to worry because customer service will take care of everything.
Easel Activity
Easel is an interactive tool that can be used to create engaging, self-grading quizzes for virtual or in person instruction. It’s perfect for use with TpT PDF and it’s free to use!! Win-win
This is the coolest! Ever buy a product and wish that it were digital? TPT has done just that with TPT Easel. Easel allows you to create digital resources from PFDs. With easel teachers can send the resource to their students, students can type directly on the resource and send it back to teachers. This is a game changer for this “in school, out of school time”.
Previously sellers had to go in and make their product accessible via easel. TPT announced last week to its sellers that all TPT products would now be easel enabled. I actually think this is pretty cool because I really didn’t want to go back and make all my resources digital.
Get Credits for Reviews
I have been an avid TPT user for many years, years before I had my shop and I had no idea about this. When you review the products you’ve purchased you get credits. Go to your “My Purchases” page and click the “Leave a Review”. You Earn 1 credit for every $1 spent and they even round up! If you review an item that is 5.75, you’ll get 6 credits.You can use these credits towards future tpt downloads. Unfortunately, you can’t earn credit on resources paid for with a gift card.
Make Passive Income
You know I couldn’t end this post without telling you how you can get in on making these coins. You know I am all about empowering my teacher friends to make more money, whether that’s is in education or not. For my friends who want to get in on this TPT money, its not too late. Some TPT sellers are making, 6 or 7 figures!! I also want you to know, that you have already been doing most of the work.
Starting on TPT is simple and free. Create and post your first product, this one has to be a freebie. This free product will give teachers an example of your work, so make it something simple that teachers can use. Once you have that free one down, start creating products. The great thing about this platform is you make it once and selling it over and over, creating passive income!! Sidenote: this is definitely not all the steps you need to make money on TPT, we’d need a whole new post for that, but research and get started, if this sounds like something you’d like to try.
